ISEE organizes an advisory committee for each doctoral student. The committee is composed of several ISEE faculty members and specialists from companies, universities, and related fields. The committee designs an individual curriculum for each student according to the research theme, holds periodical progress checks, and provides academic and career advising. The curriculum offers opportunities for students to learn intellectual property and teaching techniques and participate in long-term internships.
The curriculum emphasizes experiments, exercises, seminars and course work, providing the students with a practical education. Extended subjects cover interdisciplinary areas which are closely related to each department and course. Students select one extended subject and enroll in classes from the designated extended subjects in addition to their major field. A minimum of 45 credits are required which is the world standard level. Subjects are categorized in order to take courses systematically.
