{"id":37,"date":"2017-07-03T20:16:21","date_gmt":"2017-07-03T11:16:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.isee.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/newhp\/e\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2018-02-04T19:33:48","modified_gmt":"2018-02-04T10:33:48","slug":"facilities","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.isee.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/e\/facilities.html","title":{"rendered":"Research Facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"mt0\">Research Institute of Superconductor Science and Systems (RISS)<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/p_electrical02.jpg\" alt=\"RISS\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-257\" \/>The following research has been carried out in collaboration with the Research Institute of Superconductor Science and Systems (RISS)* to create superconducting technology for industries;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Investigation and improvement of electromagnetic properties in advanced superconducting materials<\/li>\n<li>Development of superconducting power devices such as superconducting transformers, superconducting motors, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Development of superconducting bio-sensing system utilizing a very high sensitive magnetic sensor, Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These research topics cover a wide range of areas and are evaluated highly internationally.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nRelated Professors : <\/strong><br \/>\nKazuo Funaki, Keiji Enpuku, Takanobu Kiss, Masakatsu Iwakuma, Kazuhiro Kajikawa<\/p>\n<p>*RISS was founded in 2003 with the support of the Graduate School of ISEE, the Graduate School of Engineering, and the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences.<\/p>\n<h3>Cleanrooms<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/p_facilities02.jpg\" alt=\"Cleanrooms\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-367\" \/>During the manufacturing process of semiconductor integrated circuits, LCD panels, plasma panels and micro-machines, dust in the air causes unfavorable effects such as short circuits and damages devices. Thus, the manufacturing process has to be conducted in a clean environment. Our university is equipped with a Class 100* cleanroom facility, which allows the latest research in the field of semiconductors to become possible.<\/p>\n<p>*Cleanrooms are classified by the number of particles sized 0.5 \u00b5m or larger per cubic foot of air.
